We discovered the world of “travel hacking” while planning our honeymoon & became addicted ;) So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world. 100 Hours in The Philippines 🇵🇭 Epic FILIPINO STREET FOOD in Cebu, Bacolod & More!
The Philippines, an archipelago of over 7000 islands known for its beautiful beaches, friendly locals and in my opinon Asia's most underrated food! The food here is full of flavour, fresh, smokey, sweet, exotic… There is so much more to Filipino cuisine than just adobo. Welcome to Chopstick Travel, I'm Luke Martin. This is a film I made with over 100 hours of filming across some of The Philippines most famous food destinations from the chaotic capital of Manila, to the pristine jungles of Palawan, to the laid-back vibe of Cebu and the food heaven which is the city Bacolod. Everyone knows the best way to dive deep into any countries culture or cuisine is with the help of locals. We’re kicking things off in the biggest city in the Central Visayas, Cebu. With the help of my local Cebuano friend Paolo we’re going to uncover the true taste of Cebu ______________________ I'm Luke Martin, food lover and world traveller! I make videos about local, authentic and unique foods from across the globe. I particularly like to sample street food across Asia. I’ve eaten my way across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, parts of Africa, North America and the list is still growing! My mission is to create content that is entertaining, informative, honest and fun! I love what I do and I'm always grateful for your support! 100 Hours in Turkey 🇹🇷 Epic TURKISH STREET FOOD Tour in Istanbul & Across Türkiye!
Turkey, over 5 years and multiple trips, has taught me that food here is a way of life. Every region, city and village has its own recipes, its own dish. Their food is a part of their identity. I’m in Istanbul. Not the capital of Turkey, but certainly one of histories most important cities. Istanbul, formerly known as Constantinople is where east meets west. This is where we start the journey but soon we’ll cross the turqiouis waters of the Bosphorus and dive deep into Anatolian Asia. Of the many foods the Turk’s are proud to call theirs’. There may not be one more symbolic than the Turkish delight. Welcome to Chopstick Travel I'm Luke Martin and this is a film made using over 100 hours spent filming compiled into an extensive but certainly not exhaustive documentary about the Food in Turkey (Türkiye). ______________________ I'm Luke Martin, food lover and world traveller! Mont Blanc Tunnel: The Engineering Marvel You've Never Heard Of
For centuries, mountain ranges have served as one of the most formidable obstacles for mankind. They are a transportation nightmare for anyone in the business of moving goods or people: you either had to wind your way through them, which was a slow, time consuming, and dangerous process, or else go around them, which could take you hundreds or even thousands of miles out of your way. Modern technology has solved the problem of mountain ranges, however, in the form of road tunnels: rather than go over or around the mountain, you simply blow a hole right through it and build your road there. Road tunnels are a vital piece of transportation infrastructure, saving travelers countless hours and allowing for the passage of heavy commercial traffic which would otherwise have been unable to traverse the mountains. However, we as commuters tend to overlook tunnels, with few people truly appreciating the immense amount of effort and resources needed to carve out these shortcuts through the mountains, such as the Mont Blanc Tunnel. When it opened to traffic in 1965, the Mont Blanc was both the longest and the deepest road tunnel ever built. Stretching over 11.5 kilometers under Europe’s highest mountain, the tunnel has served as a vital link between France and Italy, at one point carrying as much as one third of Italy’s commercial traffic to the rest of the continent. Unfortunately, it also showcased how dangerous tunnels like this can be, when a disaster in 1999 claimed more than three dozen lives. → Subscribe for new videos two times per week. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHKRfxkMTqiiv4pF99qGKIw?sub_confirmation=1 Love content? So, sit back, relax, and let Africa's charm wash over you in a stunning 8K Ultra HD. Among the many unique savannah species here in Chobe National Park are some truly incredible birds. Take the Gray go-away-bird and the Verreaux's Eagle-Owl. Their names alone pique your curiosity, but their fascinating adaptations and behaviors will leave you awestruck. Despite its drab name, the Gray go-away-bird is a vocal powerhouse. Its loud, melancholic cry, which sounds like "go away," earned it its name. But this cry isn't just a mournful tune; it's a clever defense mechanism! The go-away-bird uses its song to warn other birds of approaching predators, creating a cacophony that can confuse and deter even the fiercest hunters. They're expert mimics. Not only can they mimic the calls of other birds, but they can even imitate the alarm calls of mammals like monkeys and baboons. This ability to speak the language of the savannah further expands their early-warning network, making them the neighborhood watchdogs of the avian world. The Verreaux's Eagle-Owls have an uncanny ability to hear in the dark. Their enormous, asymmetrical ears are like satellite dishes, pinpointing the faintest rustle of a rodent or the flutter of a moth's wings in the dead of night. This makes them apex predators in the darkness, silently swooping down on unsuspecting prey with laser-like precision. In 2022, adventurer-filmmaker Robert Hofmeyr set his sights on Botswana, Red-V-Raptor in tow. He plunged into the soul of untouched national parks, capturing the land's spellbinding beauty and teeming wildlife with an intimacy rarely seen. His devotion birthed a breathtaking video, a vibrant hymn to Botswana's natural treasures, and a testament to the unwavering spirit needed to unveil such a wondrous spectacle.
